Julia Peck is a research fellow at True North. She worked as the lead researcher on former chief editor of the Guardian Alan Rusbridger’s latest book, News and How to Use It: What to Believe in a Fake News World, and has organized within the movements for fossil fuel divestment, housing justice, and Palestinian rights. She most recently served as a research assistant on an EU-funded project at the University of Cambridge to develop multilingual curricula to teach cultural literacy to schoolchildren, an experience which fuels one of her beats at True North: the dark money-funded backlash against anti-racist teaching in U.S. schools. A linguist by training, Julia works on (and learns) endangered languages and holds an MPhil from Oxford.
